About Moga

Moga is the administrative headquarters of “Moga” district. Initially Moga was the part of Ferozepur district and after 1972 Moga tehsil became a part of Faridkot district. In the year 1995, Moga tehsil along with Bagha Purana tehsil formed a new district Moga. The Moga district is surrounded by Jalandhar district in the north, Ludhiana district in the East, Bathinda & Barnala in the south and Faridkot and Ferozepur district in the west, covering land area of 2242 sq. km. which is 4.45 % of the total area of State. The district is divided into four tehsils i.e. Nihal Singhwala, Bagha Purana, Dharmkot and Moga for the smooth execution of general and revenue purposes, and each tehsil has a sub-divisional status. The district is further divided into seven Community Development Blocks i.e. Dharamkot, Moga-I, Moga-II, Bagha Purana, Nihal Singhwala of district Moga, and Makhu and Zira of Ferozepur district.
